Our History

The story of Ensley Farms begins on a quiet stretch of countryside at 7833 22 Mile Rd in Sand Lake, Michigan, where the land has carried the footsteps and hard work of the Ensley family for more than a century. What started as a modest homestead grew into a generational anchor—fields worked by hand, barns raised with determination, and a way of life shaped by the seasons and the values of rural Michigan.

For five generations, the Ensley family has lived by the lessons this land teaches: resilience, honesty, and respect for the soil beneath their boots. Each generation added its own chapter, but the heart of the farm remained the same—family first, land second, and community always.

A 5th‑Generation Legacy

Today, that legacy continues through Kyle Ensley, a proud 5th‑generation steward of the property. Kyle grew up on this very ground, learning early how to run equipment, maintain a farm, and solve problems with grit and creativity. The farm wasn’t just home—it was where he learned responsibility, craftsmanship, and the pride that comes from doing things the right way.

Before returning to build the next chapter of Ensley Farms, Kyle served his country as a United States Marine during the Global War on Terrorism. His time in the Marine Corps strengthened the values he learned on the farm—discipline, honor, and commitment—and deepened his appreciation for home, family, and the land he would one day return to.

Kyle’s life today is rooted in both legacy and love. He and his wife, Samantha, are raising their three children on the same soil that shaped generations before them.

Growing Into a Modern Land‑Service Business

Every project carries the same care and integrity that the Ensleys have poured into their land for generations. The business reflects the family’s values—quality work, honest communication, and a commitment to leaving every property better than they found it.

A New Chapter: The Lavender Farm

Looking toward the future, the Ensley family is preparing to bring a new kind of beauty and purpose to the property: a 25‑acre lavender farm. This next chapter blends tradition with innovation—transforming part of the historic homestead into a vibrant agricultural destination.

Ensley Farms & Landscape is growing with purpose. The mission is simple: honor the past, serve the present, and build something lasting for the future. With expanding land‑service capabilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the upcoming lavender farm, the business is evolving into a multi‑branch operation rooted in the same values that started it all.

This is our history. This is our home. And the next chapter is just beginning.
